"Even though the roads are rough, and a little hair-raising at times, the drivers are obviously well experienced professionals, safe, courteous and capable. " —TripAdvisor Reviews of Rainbow Photo Tours
I first learned about Rainbow Photo Tours through Lonely Planet's Bhutan guidebook where it was mentioned as a specialty tour. Bhutan was on my wish list, specifically Eastern Bhutan, since I had read how beautiful, little traveled and authentic it was. I was thrilled to find all of this in the Rainbow trip, which Robin wrote about with such passion. The itinerary looked fantastic and Robin's YouTube videos made my mind up! The trip was everything I had hoped for, traveling with experienced Bhutanese guides and drivers, who offered a wealth of information about local customs, Bhutanese history, not to mention packing coffee, tea and cookies daily for breaks along the way! Robin was always available with great photo tips, ideas for new and unusual shots, lighting, composition and editing. Through his knowledge of local people, we were able to have TWO festivals arranged by Robin specifically for our small group! Not to mention temples, monasteries, nunneries, schools and lunches at local homes and restaurants. Talk about photo ops!
Needless to say, for me as an avid amateur photographer, this was the trip of a lifetime. My husband, who is not so much a photographer, still had a great time playing around with his movie camera.

Take it from me...this tour is worth every penny!
