Day Excursion around Mongar

Today we halt for the day and enjoy the sights in and around Mongar. After breakfast we will break into two groups, one to visit the secondary school and one to visit the primary school and then we will switch. In Bhutan Saturday is a half day of school so we will try to time it so that when the bell rings to signal the end of the school day all of us can start walking down the hill and the kids will approach you for conversations and learning experiences. After lunch there are several options that will be explained at lunch.

Overnight: Hotel Wangchuck, pick up laundry upon return in the afternoon.

Tourists usually need a special permit to visit schools, one that takes months to pass through proper channels, but because of relationships developed over the years we have a standing invitation by the principals in Mongar."
